Responsive Web Design & Foundational Design Language
Establishing a scalable digital flagship and visual design language for a mission-critical emergency network platform.
Project Overview
ePACT Network is an online emergency network based in North Vancouver, BC, that allows users to securely store, exchange, and access critical health information. In times of crisis, the platform provides web and mobile communication tools to connect families, friends, and organizations.
BAMN design was brought on to completely redesign their responsive website. The objective was to create a modern web experience that would serve as the foundational blueprint, defining a unified design language to be rolled out across their mobile application and all physical and digital marketing collateral.
Research & Planning
Our planning phase centered on the psychology of emergency management: users range from stressed parents filling out health history to camp counselors accessing a child’s medical info during an outdoor crisis. We analyzed user patterns across desktop and mobile to ensure that regardless of the device, the path to critical data or emergency alerts was direct and obvious.
Website Design & Development
The website was designed to shift ePACT away from an industrial SaaS aesthetic toward a human-centric, reliable community network.
Responsive Fluidity
Every layout module was precision-engineered to fluidly scale from ultrawide desktop monitors down to standard smartphone screens, maintaining legibility and technical integrity at every break point.
B2B & B2C
The homepage UI was structured to split the user funnel cleanly: giving municipal and organization leaders immediate access to technical integration specs, while simultaneously offering a welcoming, straightforward interface for individual families.
Feature Visualization
We designed interactive interface elements that visually demonstrated how data passes between families and organizations safely, breaking down their advanced encryption and privacy measures into clear graphic narratives.
Design System & Wireframes
Because this project was destined to dictate the UI for the ePACT mobile app and future print assets, the Design System required a rigorous, component-based approach.
